Ann Curry
Ann Curry is an American journalist and photojournalist who has been a reporter for over 45 years focusing on the suffering of people in war zones and natural disasters. Curry has reported on wars all over the globe, and has reported on conflicts in Kosovo Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo. Ann Curry, (born November 19th, 1956 in Agana American journalist and television anchor and news reporter who was most well-known for her work as a correspondent for the Today program, which was a morning news show that was telecast on the National Broadcasting Co. (NBC). Curry was known for her reporting on the humanitarian crisis in war-ravaged countries and on natural catastrophes. Curry was born in Japan and educated by her Japanese mom. Her father was an U.S. Navy sailor. Curry's parents bonded in Japan, in which her father was stationed after World War II. Her father was a member of the military, so her family was forced to relocate a lot. Curry was a student at the high school in Ashland, Oregon. Curry graduated from high school in 1978 and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism in the University of Oregon. The diversity of her experiences and the experiences she had during her growing up likely influenced her empathetic method of communication regarding issues of international significance. They moved frequently, so Curry didn't stay in one school for more than two years. She traveled extensively to places such as San Diego Alameda Oregon and Virginia. Finally, she graduated Ashland High School. While working as an intern for KTVL Channel 10 Medford, Oregan, she began her journey in broadcasting. She was the first female anchor at the station, when she aged 22. Then, she stepped on to become an anchor and reporter for KGW KGW, which was which is an NBC affiliate station located in Portland. When she moved to Los Angeles, she became a reporter at KCBS TV just four years after making the move to the city. It was during her association with this channel for six years that she received two Emmy Awards.
